Transway’s ticket machines are built sturdy and built to last. Transway has Driver Consoles (Ticket Issuing Machines) in the field since 1997, and these models are still operable today. Any Public Transport Ticketing Systems project needs to be ‘future-proof’, meaning that the project requires a line of ticketing machines that will be able to serve for the next 10 – 15 years. Transway TapNGo products include on board ticket machines, platform ticket vending machines, validators, and POS ticket kiosks, and have a track record that proves that Transway's entire line of ticket machines are up to the task.

Transway’s latest ticket machine products are developed on the Android operating system. Development for a specific project can be done internally by Transway or locally by a third party Integrator. Transway’s TapNGo platform for Electronic Ticket Systems is not a closed SDK or on a proprietary platform, but rather on the open and ubiquitous Android platform. Furthermore, third party applications can seamlessly be added, such as a map applications. Working in an Android environment also allows for easier changes, updates and adaptations to the current system, making TapNGo a more open and universal system.

TapNGo provides choices from a wide variety of Ticket Machines, such as Ticket Issuing Machines (TIM, or Driver Consoles), Validators, handheld devices for conductors and inspectors, selling and reloading ticket kiosks, ticket vending machines (TVMs), credit loading machines (CLM), personalization stations and back office server applications.

Your information and data are valuable to your company. Transway understands this and has many systems in place to ensure the safety and timely transfer of the information that you need from the field. Transway products are flexible, and use multiple modes of communication for the information in the field to reach the back office. With TapNGo, your machines in the field enjoy double redundancy, and in certain cases, even triple redundancy.

All field ticket machines, which include the platform ticket dispenser machines, handheld devices, and Ticket Kiosks have internal storage on non-mechanical storage devices, such as Micro SD and SSD. In addition to the internal storage, there is cellular, LAN, and a driver module for the driver’s console (Ticketing Machine). The Data Communication Unit (DCU), also referred to as the driver’s module, looks similar to a disk-on key, and is used both as a key to initialize and use the ticket machine, as well as a storage and back-up of the data.

The level and manner of communication and back up differ slightly between TapNGo platform ticket vending machine products, onboard ticket machine products and mobile ticketing machine products. TapNGo platform ticket dispenser machines have both LAN and cellular communications, where either one can serve as the main communications mode to the back-office. The second is an automatic back up. Since our LAN products have two (2) plugs, the LAN serves as a double redundancy, and the cellular communications makes our platform ticket vending machines triply redundant!

TapNGo on-board ticketing machine products, such as our Ticket Issuing Machines and Validators use both cellular technology, as well as the Data Communication Unit (DCU) described above. This double redundancy means that your data is safe and secure.

TapNGo’s robust infrastructure provides for sending and receiving different types of data and receiving various types of services for your ticket machines and for the back office system. Keeping your ticket machines in the field up to date with the most recent software updates can be a real headache, but with TapNGo, it is simple and seamless. Software updates for ticket machines in the field are based on Big Fix ® from IBM.

All of the Transway TapNGo products communicate their parameters and data tables with the Transway Administration Server (TAS). Updates occur only in the case of changes, which means less unnecessary traffic on the communication lines and a more economical and efficient method of working.

When you need information from the field quickly, the TapNGo system delivers! Your operational data from the field, such as the number of passengers on a particular bus, on all of the buses, or related financial information, is delivered to you in real time.

Monitoring is critical to the smooth operations of any public transportation ticketing system project. All of Transway’s TapNGo products are connected through cellular or LAN communications and use SNMP protocol to communicate and allow for monitoring of the interfaces, hardware and software. You are able to connect your bus ticketing system to third party products with which you are already working, or are readily available in the market, such as WhatsUp Gold, Solar Wind or Tivoli. With Transway’s TapNGo, you are able to monitor all hardware, software and communications from a single end point!

TapNGo provides tremendous granularity in your ability to manage your ticket machines in the field in the most convenient and easy to use manner. Ticket machines can be controlled individually, in groups, or all together. You are able to control settings at a more detailed and in depth level than similar electronic ticketing systems on the market, and all at the push of a button. There are many predefined settings and changes included in the standard package, so that even changing the time between a ticket purchase on a Ticket Machine (Driver Console) and the beeping noise to prompt someone to remove the ticket can be changed in a matter of seconds.

Physical security is of prime importance for any system of machine that is holding both money and information. You need to be confident that the ticket machines are anti-theft and field proof, especially ticket vending machines that are sitting on platforms and are unmanned. All of Transway’s TapNGo platform ticket dispensing machines incorporate both active and passive security systems, meaning that in order to take out money or reach sensitive parts of the machine, an order from the back office is mandatory and the physical locks are highly sophisticated with unique keys and multiple lock systems.
